The Jakob Bänsch Quintet is the current band of the eponymous "German Jazz Prize" winner, a Cologne-based trumpeter and composer who is one of the rising stars of the European jazz scene who worked with musicians such as Nathan East, Michael Abene, Nils Landgren and the WDR Big-Band.
His band plays music which explores sounds in between Modern Jazz and impressionistic classical music
