Mattia Romano is an Italian jazz guitarist currently based in Brussels. A graduate of the prestigious Royal Conservatory of Brussels, he has developed a distinctive voice on the guitar, shaped by his academic training and rich performance experience across Europe. Over the years, he has collaborated with a wide range of ensembles and musicians, performing in Italy, Belgium, Austria, Germany, and France.
Mattia leads his own trio, a project that showcases his original compositions. Their music draws inspiration from the vibrant and ever-evolving New York jazz scene, blending contemporary jazz language with elements of rock and folk to create a fresh and dynamic sound. Through this project, Mattia explores expressive storytelling and rhythmic interplay, bringing a personal and modern perspective to the tradition of jazz guitar.
